The first time I got to introduce my songs to the world, was May 14th – the Release Party… Still my favorite musical moment as I proposed to Leigh Ann on stage and forever burned that moment into the hearts of those that came. The songs were new and I know what it’s like to see band when you don’t know their songs. Still, it was magical.
Second Attention: I asked Puck for a show to open up for another band, which turned into a headlining gig at a real club – damn. I still don’t know how it got to that, but I was grateful. Had the Dell Project and Sandy Mentals with me and all was good… The people that saw us on 5/14 recognized most of the songs and most had the CD by then. Great night but way too much pressure on a new band to run that gig.
The Third Hour: Opening up for The Dell Project and my other band, Lost Pint. No pressure, just play. I could see people singing the words and getting into the songs which, to be honest, were mostly songs about dating Leigh Ann and the crystal clear vision I have of the world when I am with her. I think it’s catching on – this whole 528 thing, but I’m still not sure if people are REALLY ready.
I’ve been flattered and suprised at the same time to be honest. The people I thought would not be into the CD love it and keep telling me, which just floors me everytime. There are a few that just don’t want to give it a listen, and I understand. This message isn’t for everyone. When you go beyond the words, it may hit you like a lightning bolt to your whole world. But you need to move everything else aside first.
Just like Scrooge, The Wizard of Oz, and other great tales. Sometimes, the answer has always been there, but you haven’t understood it enough to do anything with it.
The next train heads to Hopetown Sound on December 3rd. An Acoustic rendition of all my songs – the way they were written. I hope you’ll listen with your heart as much as your ears.
Love.Thanks.528
